With a forged and differentially hardened blade, the Practical Plus Katana by Paul Chen adds an alluring addition to the Hanwei sword line that is not only dependable but affordable as well. This sword features more traditional construction methods and fittings which are decorated in a Japanese dogwood motif with dragon menuki and an iron sunburst design on the tsuba with a brass habaki. The blade has an HRC60 edge and HRC40 back with a hamon that is prominent.  Other features include a genuine rayskin same on the tsuka and a wrap (tsuka-ito) that has been developed especially for its gripping qualities. The long tang is double pegged for added security and the hand forged high carbon steel blade gives this sword great durability. This Practical Plus Katana is easy to handle and economical for great dependability.
