With a Buffalo horn Koiguchi and Kurigata plus a one piece brass Habaki, this Paul Chen Orchid Katana is a handmade sword with exceptional edge-holding capabilities. Made of hand forged and folded ASSAB K120C high carbon Swedish powder steel, this katana has been tempered in the traditional claying process to produce an HRC60 edge hardness and a HRC40 spine hardness for a more resilient blade. With an orchid and butterfly in inlaid silver, brass and copper decorating the blackened iron tsuba, this katana’s blade is ungrooved with a medium length Kissaki. The Fuchi, Kashira and Kojiri are made of bronzed iron detailed with gold and silver and the tough steel blade allows it to absorb a cutting stroke easily. With traditional construction, this excellent quality katana is a great addition to your collection.
