Hand forged with Tamahagane steel that is made by a Tatara or traditional Japanese sword steel smelter, a charcoal fire furnace produces a high carbon blade that has a hard edge with a softer core that gives this blade its high absorption of shock. With an outstanding hada and prominent hamon, this sword is considered one of the highest quality swords that is produced.  Displaying a black lacquered saya housing kogai and a hand woven silk sageo, this wakizashi is highly regarded for its functionality and its beauty both aesthetically and in motion. Featuring a hand sharpened blade and a paper grane motif tsuba with nanako or stippled background, it is a beautiful sword both inside and out.
