The Japanese Sakura (Cherry) Blossom is a symbol of life.  Like the Samurai, the blossoms live a brief, blooming, and brilliant life, followed by the inevitable fall.  This symbolism is often used to represent the fallen soldiers who died so bravely. 

This sword is a beautiful representation of this meaningful Japanese symbol.  The full tang and functional blade of this sword is hand crafted of high carbon steel which has been hammered to give the blade a consistent hardness.  It is balanced with an audible feedback when swung through its Bo-Hi.  Its blade features an aesthetic Hamon which runs the length of the blade and ends at the Kissake.  The Tsuba is secured to the blade by two copper Seppas and the Habaki is a single piece brass construction.  Made of a deep brass, the Tsuba features a scene of a Japanese landscape.  The Fuchi, another brass construction, features a scene of crashing waves while the Tsuka core is constructed from wood with a ray skin Same and a black cord Ito.  The Tang is secured into the Tsuka by two bamboo Mekugi and two oxidized copper Menuki are on each side of the Tsuka like birds in flight.  The Kashira features more crashing waves.  The Saya of this sword is made of wood with a shiny black gloss finish and a scene of Sakura blossoms is painted brilliantly across.  A cord Sage-o is wrapped around the Kurigata and the Koiguchi is hardened with bull horn.
