Award winning Montana Knife maker Barry Gallagher is known for his one of kind collectable art knives it is made of extrinsic materials. The problem for common knife user is that Barry is highly satisfying his man made knives are swiftly dispose at national shows in price of good used pick up.
We approached Barry for being featured in Blade magazine about producing a CRKT production folder inspired by his custom Damascus Hummingbird. We claimed the result from Montana gentleman, a true Barry Gallagher’s interpretation about his classic designs that you can carry and use daily.
The common construction is our rigid Interframe builds with two 420J2 stainless steel. A premium AUS 8 stainless steel blade with a razor – sharp edge; filled thumb stud, sheer smoothly on Teflon and bearings at blade pivot. We established a way to have identical hand file work inside and outside Barry’s back spacer with CNC machining.
But Barry had a lot of brilliant ideas for finish, so we end up with two distinct models, with though out details. 7402sk features a satin finished blade, black titanium nitride coated frame and gray anodized scales.
The back spacer Torx scale screws and removable custom clip are sheen stainless steel. The clip screws, thumb stud and blade pivot hardware are also sheen.
The dressy 7402k with black titanium nitride coated blade, a gold titanium nitride frame and black anodized scales stands out. Black titanium nitride coated back space is gold scale, screws, thumb stud and blade pivot screw.
The stainless steel clip receives black Teflon plating and back of the blade pivot is also black. Both knives are guaranteed to begin conversation, so your choice is largely matter of your personality.
The knife industry was so impressed with the achievements of Barry that the Montana Gentleman was named.
