Description

The blade of the steel has been hand crafted of high carbon steel. Wrapping around the Saya is a design of mother of Pearl.
Features
  • Blade: The blade of the steel has been hand crafted of high carbon steel. The carbon has been hand hammered throughout the blade to give the blade a consistent hardness. A Bohi has been added to the blade to better balance it and give audible feedback when the sword is swung. An aesthetic Hamon runs the length of the blade ending at the blade's Kissaki. The blade comes full tang and sharp.
  • Saya: The Saya is wooden with a maroon lacquer finish. Wrapping around the Saya is a design of mother of Pearl. The Sageo is black cord wrapped around the bright copper kurigata. The Koiguchi is black bull horn.
  • Tsuba: The Habaki is a one piece brass construction that secures the blade into the Tsuka. Two copper Seppas are found on each side of the Tsuba. The Tsuba is a beautiful scene of the hunter and its prey. A hawk perches on a branch hunting a flock of sparrows against the back drop of waves.
  • Tsuka: The Fuchi is a scene of a hawk hunting a sparrow. The tsuka is hardwood wrapped with ray skin and blue silk Ito. Two copper menuki are found on each side of the tsuka in the likeness of hawks. The tang is secured by a single Mekugi. The kashira is another scene of the perched hawk.
