Anime Overload - This Weekend!
Austin, Texas, your one stop festival for anime and pop culture is coming soon! This weekend is Anime Overload!
This event will feature anime screenings, guest and fan panels, a Hall Cosplay, a Masquerade/Cosplay Competition, an Artists’ Alley and a Dealers Room.
Guests will include Mr. 3000, Josh Grelle, DugFinn, Carli Mosier, Christopher Ayres, and Josh Grelle.

Kit Rae’s Black Legion War Axe

The Swords of the Ancients have been used throughout time to fight the never-ending battle between good and evil. Forged by the Ancient Ones who were masters of flesh, fire, and steel during the beginning of time, these swords each hold a special power by the Ancients, in order for them to have dominion over the mortal men and beasts who came into the world.
These collectibles have been around since 1997 and have become increasingly popular among fantasy enthusiasts. Many manufacturers attempt to make fantasy weapons like these but the ones made by Kit Rae are the real deal. The SOTA collection quite possibly opened the gates to the “fantasy sword” world after all.
Kit Rae’s Black Legion War Axe is the newest axe of his SOTA collection. Carried by the Black Legion, monstrous foot soldiers of the Dark One, these are meant for fighting dirty. With a 420 J2 stainless steel polished blade and back spike with engraved runes and solid metal and wood handle parts, these are of excellent quality as well as appearance. It features a genuine leather wrapped grip for control and the first 500 are serialized with an autographed poster.

Bleach - Aizen Sousuke’s Kyouka Suigetsu Wooden Sword

Aizen Sousuke, of the Anime manga series, Bleach, spent much of his time as a captain of the 5th Division. He is a prime example of a good guy gone bad in an ultimate attempt to gain power. He was seemingly kind and sympathetic, earning the love of his team and disguising his true colors. He was one of the few to suspect that the penalty for Rukia’s crimes were too harsh for what she had done and even went as far as confronting Gin Ichimaru about his plans. Although Aizen’s intentions appear to be good, they are really masking his true personality. Aizen set Rukia’s execution up so he could perfect his own experiments of creating the Visoreds (a Soul Reaper/Hollow hybrid). To make his evil intentions seem like even less of a possibility, he even faked his own death by using the illusionary power of his zanpakuto, Kyouka Suigetsu.
Kyoka Suigetsu looks like a simple katana in its sealed form. When it is activated with its command “shatter,” it can put anyone who sees it under its “perfect hypnosis.” Aizen can then make his victim see, hear, and feel whatever he wants. When Aizen faked his own death, he used these illusory properties on almost every lieutenant and captain in the Gotei 13 during a ceremonial release of his zanpakuto. He can also use illusions during combat to deceive his opponents. He can make a decoy of himself to distract his target and then step close enough to him while the victim focuses on the illusionary copy of Aizen, allowing Aizen to strike him down.
Our version of Aizen Sousuke’s Kyoka Suigetsu Wooden Sword is an all wood replica with a nylon cord wrapped handle and silver painted blade. It looks like a normal katana, just like the real version, but is safe enough for anyone to use!

Hand Forged Highlander Sword of the Dragon Katana

“He is Duncan MacLeod, the Highlander. Born in 1592 in the Highlands of Scotland and he is still alive. He is immortal. For four hundred years he’s been a warrior… a lover… a wanderer.”
MacLeod is an immortal who can heal almost any wound inflicted upon him, with the exception to a wound to the throat. Because of this, he and other immortals tend to have substantial sword fights with one another while wielding huge and powerful swords!
About the Hand Forged Highlander Sword of the Dragon Katana:
This is an impressive replica of the katana wielded by Duncan MacLeod in the Highlander series, seasons 2 through 6. Duncan MacLeod is the main character in the series and is played by actor Adrian Paul.
Here you see what may possibly be one of the most accurate and economical Highlander Sword replicas of the original sword used in the series. This version of the sword was created by Masahiro Swords. It features a sharp, hand forged carbon steel blade with bo-hi groove. Its cast metal tsuba has a dragon design with gold finish while its composite grip is made to hold the appearance of carved ivory. It comes with a black lacquered wood scabbard and metal accents.

Anime Mid-Atlantic 2009

Anime Mid-Atlantic is almost here!
Anime Mid-Atlantic is a Japanese anime and culture convention held annually in Virginia. With featured guests, anime convention events and music concerts, there is lots of fun to be had here!
Events include Collectible Card Games, a dealers room, fan panels, workshops, an AMV Contest, a Masquerade and Cosplay Competition, concerts and more.
Guests this year are Robert V. Aldrich, Christopher Ayres, Eyeshine, Chuck Huber, Jamie McGonnigal, and X-Strike Studios will be present.
Pre registration is no longer available but doors will be open to late registrants on the day of the event.

Maine’s Anime and Gaming Convention
PortConMaine 2009 is about to begin, starting June 18th. This is Maine’s biggest and longest running anime and gaming convention and it is put on by fans, for fans. This year the the Northwest Renaissance Festival of Nine Mile Falls, Washington will be celebrating its 15th year of fun! For six weeks of summer one can take part in the historical time of Good King Henry and his Queen.
There will be jousting, knightly games, sword fighting, battle chess, ale, stage shows, and dancing all day long! You can also relax while listening to live music and taste some great food!

Uruk-Hai Scimitar from Lord of the Rings

Written by English philologist, J. R. R. Tolkien, the Lord of the Rings is an epic high fantasy novel. In these novels a terrifying sort of creature known as the Uruk-Hai are known to exist under the rule of a very evil villain.
This race was created by Saruman the White in attempt to bring about an even greater breed of Orc in both strength and resistance to sunlight in order to destroy the freedom-loving people of Rohan. It is said that they resulted in the breeding of Orcs and men. The Uruk, in a force of 10,000, were defeated at Helm’s Deep by the March of the Ents.
Similar to its wielders, the Uruk-Hai Scimitar is not exactly shiny and handsome. These creatures, Uruk-Hai, who carry these deadly weapons are terribly hideous and treacherously strong.
The sword we offer here at Heavenly Swords is the official sword from the movie, made by United Cutlery. It includes a parchment certificate of authenticity and a display plaque with the symbol of Saruman. This is a must have for any LOTR collection.
