Another Anime Convention - Next Weekend.

If you are taken by the fantastic-ness of Japanese culture and anime and live in the New Hampshire region, you might want to start getting your Cosplay ready if you haven’t – or just buy a sword to show off while you attend Another Anime Convention next weekend!

Gather to meet new people with similar interests and take part in a slew of fun events like game shows, dances, videos, panels/workshops, screenings and more.

Some special guests to meet include Bill Rogers, Michele Knotz, Kyle Hebert, Chris Cason, The Penny Dreadfuls, Matthew Myers, Sin D’Angelo, and Robert “Sketch” Scholz.

If you live in the Virginia area and have a knack for anime and manga or just Japanese culture in general, you need to keep next weekend open on your calendars! Arlington, Virginia will be hosting Anime USA, a convention that brings almost 4,000 attendees yearly to its location.

Events like an Art Show, Artist Alley, Cosplay, Cosplay Chess, a Dealer Room, a Hall Coslpay, Host Club, Maid Café, and a steampunk-styled Gear-Masters Ball will certainly entertain for days along with screenings, game shows, and such.

Anime Overload - This Weekend!

Austin, Texas, your one stop festival for anime and pop culture is coming soon! This weekend is Anime Overload!

This event will feature anime screenings, guest and fan panels, a Hall Cosplay, a Masquerade/Cosplay Competition, an Artists’ Alley and a Dealers Room.

Get Ready for the New York Anime Festival of 2009!

Gear up as your favorite Bleach or other Anime character and head on over to the ever popular New York Anime Festival at the end of this month!

NYAF is an annual convention with a focus on anime, video games, Japanese pop culture, and anything between!

Illinois Renaissance Festival 2009

Get ready for the Illinois Renaissance Festival!

Step back into time and relive the traditions of long ago with a full scale, live re-enactment at the Illinois Renaissance Festival!

The town of Cornwall, England is a merry little town full of happiness and wit. Join the townsfolk as they await the return of their honored Lord Stanbrough along with a visit from His Majesty, King Henry VIII. There will be two days of feasting and celebration along with performers and peddlers, gypsies, musicians, and merrimakers!

Enjoy a weekend full of stories presented by Lord Marrok, sharing glipses into the civilization of merry olde England, hear the sound of giant drums, observe the prowess of the Akita and bear-hunting dogs of the Samurai. See a picture of the warriors of the East and watch an actual battle between Marrock himself as he fights with a warrior to determine which culture reigns!

Travel Back in Time with Michigan Renaissance Festival

Michigan Renaissance Festival - Coming Soon!

Travel to the little English village of Hollygrove this month (through October) with Michigan Renaissance Festival. Experience life in the latter half of the 16th Century, during the reign of Queen Elizabeth I while you wander around the streets with patrons, nobles, Vikings, pirates, wizards, rogues, wenches, and many other fantasy characters.

Other things one may see include swordfights, lane acts, festival stage acts, full contact joust shows, and fun activities and games for the entire family.

This festival will begin the weekend of August 22nd and 23rd and will last through October 3rd and 4th. A rundown of the weekend themes are below:

Ravenshire Renaissance Faire - A jolly good time.

In 17 days the Ravenshire Renaissance Faire will take place in Palisade, Colorado! August 21st through 23rd, renaissance and pirate enthusiasts will join together in the village of Ravenshire for a weekend of magic, mirth, and great food and wares!

This faire is unique as it features a blend of both the Renaissance Era of 1550 and the 18th Century Pirates. To fully enjoy the experience, go in your period attire (ideas available at their website). Also bring your Medieval and Pirate Swords – but remember to keep then sheathed and peace-tied at all times.

Kings, Queens, Pirates and Gypsies and children are welcome to enjoy the days full of merriment and chivalry along with looting and the wreaking of piratey havoc!
