Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince… and Wands!

July 16, 2009

Now you can gear up for most recent Harry Potter movie by Warner Bros., Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince - now playing!

So grab your wizarding wands and locate Platform 9 ¾ to jump on the Hogwart’s Express to travel to the land of the world’s most famous wizard - Harry Potter!  You don’t have a wand?  Well, you have come to the right place!

Now available at the Heavenly Swords Harry Potter Shoppe, you will find seven new wands – one for each of your favorite characters from the Harry Potter novels by J.K. Rowling!

Although I personally recommend ordering all of them at once so your collection is instantly complete, I realize that for some of us this isn’t feasible. So, please allow me to help you decide which wand you will begin casting your powerful magic with…

Do you have a sweet, loveable, and feminine side? Then Cho Chang’s Wand might be for you! Purchased from Ollivander, this wand can do a whole lot of magic from Defence to Charms.

Do your friends find you to be annoying because you are a “know-it-all” who always expresses your opinion (yet, when they need help they always come to you first)? Then Hermione Granger’s Wand might suit your style. This wand was confiscated by Snatchers, so the one you will be receiving is not the original.

Is the finger pointed at you when anything goes wrong because of circumstances beyond your control, even though it isn’t your fault? Sirius Black’s Wand will surely fit in your hand so you can cast nonverbal spells!

Perhaps you have minimal talent but aren’t the best at anything. You might have an extreme fear of spiders and suffer from an inferiority complex. If this is the case, then there is none other for you besides Ron Weasley’s Wand. Simply hold it and chant, “Sunshine, daisies, butter mellow, turn this stupid, fat rat yellow!”

If extreme paranoia makes up a portion of your personality, you probably fit in well in the category with Mad-Eye Moody (despite the fact that you may both of your eyes still). You can fight against the Dark Arts with Mad-Eye Moody’s Wand.

Are you a leader, brilliant, and an excellent companion and father-type figure? Do you think you can face Lord Voldemort without the tiniest bit of fear? If so, you must get your hands on Professor Dumbledore’s Wand!

Maybe you aren’t any of the above, but instead, the most evil, grueling, hideous creature in existence and you want nothing out of life but full power over all the Wizarding and Muggle worlds alike. If this sounds like you then you need Lord Voldemort’s Wand. I must warn you; however, that you will not win and will face your number one fear in due time!

We also have Harry Potter’s Wand for the invincible hero in you. Be the star of the show with his wand, the Harry Potter – Gryffindor Sword, or the highly recommended Harry Potter – Gordic Gryffindor Sword!

Now you can cast spells rigtht along with Harry and his gang while sitting in the theater (however, I don’t think you are allowed to light them up during the show - that may be bending the rules a little)!

Uruk-Hai Scimitar from Lord of the Rings

June 8, 2009

Written by English philologist, J. R. R. Tolkien, the Lord of the Rings is an epic high fantasy novel. In these novels a terrifying sort of creature known as the Uruk-Hai are known to exist under the rule of a very evil villain.

This race was created by Saruman the White in attempt to bring about an even greater breed of Orc in both strength and resistance to sunlight in order to destroy the freedom-loving people of Rohan. It is said that they resulted in the breeding of Orcs and men. The Uruk, in a force of 10,000, were defeated at Helm’s Deep by the March of the Ents.

Similar to its wielders, the Uruk-Hai Scimitar is not exactly shiny and handsome. These creatures, Uruk-Hai, who carry these deadly weapons are terribly hideous and treacherously strong.

The sword we offer here at Heavenly Swords is the official sword from the movie, made by United Cutlery. It includes a parchment certificate of authenticity and a display plaque with the symbol of Saruman. This is a must have for any LOTR collection.

  • Blade Length: 24 ¾”
  • Blade Thickness: 3/16”

Zatoichi: Sword of the Blind Swordsman

January 29, 2009

ZatoichiZatoichi is a well known fictional character of Japan from the Edo period (during the 1800’s). Upon first impression he seems to be an innocent, blind traveler, wandering around the country showing his musical ability, performing acupuncture, and showing off his superb swordsmanship skills, especially that of iaido. He carries a cane sword (because blades were banned during this period) that was specially made for him. Despite his calm, quiet characteristics, he actually can be quite fierce when faced with his foes. Known for his protection over the innocent, Zatoichi is an incredible fighter and a fearsome opponent.

The shikomizue (which literally means “prepared cane”) is functional and comes with a fully sharpened carbon steel blade! So you can use your skills to take down samurai and yakuza just like the film hero! Its blade features grooves on one side of its handle for orientation and the red scabbard and handle are highly lacquered. It also includes a custom wooden sword box with engraving and a cloth sword bag!

This Zatoichi Sword of the Blind Swordsman (red) sword can be an extravagant addition to your Hadmade Swords, Movie Swords, or Asian Swords collection!

Measurements:

  • Overall Length: 39”
  • Handle Length: 11”
